I'm trying to chase down this one. When I turn the headlights to the "On" position, they do not come on at all. Obviously the daytime running lights are always on, but they actually turn OFF when the knob is turned to the ON position. High beams work, but no regular beams. What gives?

Well, no. when the truck is running and the switch is OFF the daytime lights are on. When you click it over to the next setting the headlights are on but the interior dash lights come on. When you turn the switch to the full ON position, the headlights go out but the dashlights are still on. You can still pull the high beam lever and the high beams will come on, but when you pull the lever to go back to headlights they just go out. Make sense? It's ridiculous! These are Dodge problems!

That would be the headlight dimmer switch then. It is actually part of a bigger multiswtich that does that turns, hazards, cruise etc. $150 +at least two hours of labor. What year is your vehicle so I can post the instruction set for you?

It's a 98. I actually was driving home from work tonight and the headlights actually worked when switched to the "on" position. Unfortunately, it started to rain and when I twisted the idiot stick to activate the wipers, the lights went out. Maybe there is a loose connection in a harness associated to the stick?

I say your switch is toast. Change it before you loose everything on it.

Forgot to mention if you have cruise the price might be $40 higher.

Instructions for tilt:

and not tilt:

Dont forget Arir bag disarm:

1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
2. Turn OFF the ignition.
3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.

Important: With the AIR BAG Fuse removed and the ignition switch in the RUN position, The AIR BAG warning lamp illuminates. This is normal operation, and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.

4. Remove the AIR BAG Fuse from the Instrument Panel (IP) fuse block.
5. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (1) from the driver yellow 2-way connector located at the base of the steering column.
6. Disconnect the driver yellow 2-way connector (2) located at the base of the steering column.
7. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (2) from the passenger yellow 2-way connector located near the base of the steering column.
8. Disconnect the passenger yellow 2-way connector (1) located near the base of the steering column.

And re-arm:

1. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
2. Connect the passenger yellow 2-way connector (1) located near the base of the steering column.
3. Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (2) to the passenger yellow 2-way connector located near the base of the steering column.
4. Connect the driver yellow 2-way connector (2) located at the base of the steering column.
5. Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (1) to the driver yellow 2-way connector located at the base of the steering column.
6. Install the AIR BAG Fuse to the Instrument Panel (IP) fuse block.
7. Staying well away from the air bags, turn ON the ignition.

7.1. The AIR BAG warning lamp will flash 7 times.
7.2. The AIR BAG warning lamp will then turn OFF.

8. Perform the SIR Diagnostic System Check if the AIR BAG warning lamp does not operate as described. Refer to SIR Diagnostic System Check
