how do you take the amber off the lense incase i just want to do it myself. Could i just clean the inside of the housing and spray some of the nite shades over it once the lense is off???

I'm not sure if the amber lens is removable, I would assume it is. So just preheat your oven at 190* and bake the light for no more than 90seconds. All you trying to do is soften up the factory sealant. Then gently pry the lens off with a putty knife or something similar. You might have to put it in the oven multiple time during the removal process. DO NOT put the lens on the rack. I wouldn't niteshades then lens itself because you will lose significant light output. I would just paint the light shrouds themselves and if the amber reflector is not removable you can just paint that too.

Baking sheet will work just make sure the glass lens isn't touching any metal and only do it for 90 seconds or so. I always just tossed mine in there right on the rack. Remember you're just trying to soften the factory sealant. Also when you go to reseal them use clear silicon. You can also use a heat gun if you have one available and are nervous about the oven. Google "Joey mod" and you'll pull up a bunch of write-ups on it. I think I'm actually going to do this myself tonight....I've done it to my VW's just not to my Denali yet.....

Ok I'll let you know. My only questions is do I paint the inner chrome section where the lights reflect off of, or just the "face" of the housing. It looks like on the depo lights they are black but would think that would reduce my light output.

im not sure? Let me know what you end up doing and how it works. I really want to do it but havent gotten a good idea on how to do it except for heating it up in the oven for a bit

I believe the amber reflector can be popped out with a flathead.
Manny, stop teasing the guy.
