So this is what I did. Preheated oven @ 220* placed entire housing on a piece of cardboard and ended up baking it twice for 5 min each time. I used a razor knife to score each side of the adhesive the peeled it out with a sharp putty knife and flathead screw driver. A pick set might make it easier. I found it easier to start with the side closest to the grille. I only had to remove about half of the factory sealant around that side threw it back in the oven and gently pried the lens off. The amber reflector is attached by adhesive to the lens so might need to toss it back for a min to just to soften it up. then just pry it off with your hands. To tape it off I used glad press n seal the taped it off on top with cheap tan masking tape. Don't use the blue painters tape it's to sticky and could pull off the chrome
I used krylon for plastic in gloss black (the whole can) about. 6 coats. I didn't use any adhesion promoter or primer. It's seemed to stick just fine.
I had small runs from my poor taping job so just make sure you take your time. Then couldn't decide to leave the amber or paint it.
Decided just to paint it using the same krylon paint.
Then used black silicon to seal em up. They are now drying on my counter
and I'm now driving around with no heads lights
