I am having a issue where the 5mm bolt(rod) that is on the inner side on both sides turns but does not come right out, thus releasing the headlight assembly, the outside rods do (again on both sides). what am I doing wrong and what are my next options? I tried pulling them out with force without much success.

could someone post some pics after removal so that I know what I am working with... this way I know which way to wiggle/bend to make them release. as they turn without much effort I am certain they are bent or caught on something in there...

if this does not work, Would I have to remove the entire front grill to get at it?

thx in advance

The rod and nut both get rusty. The nut has a plastic cage in the headlight housing that tends to break free. You'll have to pull the grille to get it apart. I used anti seize on the threads when I put it back together

No problem. Make sure you have a tube of 5 minute epoxy, JB Weld, etc handy. You'll probably end up needing to epoxy the nut back to the headlight assy.
