I have an '01 Tahoe and I'm looking to install some new headlights and foglights. But right now I don't have any foglights. Not sure if they fell out or even came with them. I'm the third owner (I think)

Ok a couple of questions, I am just looking for opinions right now and I'm not ready to buy and install anything just yet.

I want to put in new headlights. Ive seen pics of HID and Projectors, I like the projectors but i've heard of the headlight housing melting because it gets to hot.
What do you recommend HID or Projectors and which brand?

And Fog lights, OEM or Aftermarket? should there already be wiring there for them if my tahoe never came with them or do I have to run the wiring?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

okay you can have HID's and projectors . Also I like ddmtunning.com for all of My HID needs. I would run aftermarket driving / fog lights IMO. Also i am a loyal to Depo brand Housings. I also have a 2001 tahoe. I am the original owner tho. Mine came with driving lights I swapped them out to aftermarket Fog lights and wired them in to the factory wires and switch. I hope

This helps. For Fog / driving lights if you go HID do not go above 35watts on hi beams you can go 55 watts and I would do my low beams at 35 watt like a 8000 Kalvin

For projectors I'd recommend the depos. I've heard they're the best aftermarket projectors out of the box. If you want to spend more money and get better output results, I would suggest a retro. That includes opening up the headlight housings and installing true hid projectors(morimotos, RX's, TSX's, etc). For hids,
a lot of our members use DDM. For best output and most usable light go with 4500k-5000k hids. 35 watt should be ok for the low beams and oem fogs. I wouldn't go any higher than 35 watt for the fogs unless you get all metal aftermarket fog housings.

I have seen some P1 projector fogs on ebay. Look for the clear ones. You can get them with the same bulb size as your lows to reduce the amount of different bulbs you need. Let me know if you need the link.
