Well,I am thinking about headlights. Lots of people think I should use the HID lights. I am not really enthused about those as all the extra parts such as the ballasts, and the fact that they have to "warm up".

My Tahoe currently has HIR bulbs in it, which to me seem to be really bright, and I am actually happy with them...However...

We recently took delivery of 5 new electric hybrid buses at work, and they have LED headlights in them. Very, very nice bulbs...and very small...

I looked on EBAY and these bulbs seems like a good choice. anyone running them yet?

Just was wondering...

yeah the source of the light is all messed up with those plug in LEDs.

It's best to stick with what you have or do a projector retrofit.

The LEDs in those busses is different from the crap on eBay.

This.

What you're seeing on those buses are OE led modules similar to these http://www.jwspeaker.com/products/headlights/model-90-90mm-led-headlights or these http://www.hella.com/MicroSite/soe/sites/default/files/J00353_KI_90mm_Premium_GB.pdf, not available as a PnP application. As you can see in the drawings the heatsinks behind the lenses are huge relative to the front surface area. That's because that's what's needed to dissipate the heat that led chips bright enough for usable lights generate. The little PnP bulbs you linked don't have enough lumens for a functional low beam, and if they did they would project wrong in reflectors, and would fry themselves rather quickly.

Personally I like my HID's, I have them in my Low and High beams, but honestly my new LED light bar, puts them to shame. So I'm thinking about just putting regular bulbs back in my low-beams, leaving the High-Beams HID, and having the LED bar. (Once I actually put it on the truck)

EDIT: Also, kind of sounds like I mean drive around (regular city streets) with my LED Light Bar "On," I wouldn't do that. That is torture for whoever gets in front of that thing.

Long as you have the clear glass lense after market head light housings and make the adjustments you can put the hid's in major light output 35watts is all you need.

Hid should only be done with a projector retrofit, otherwise the amount of glare created for other drivers especially in a taller vehicle is pure evil.
