True, any higher than 4500k is to much blue, but without a bi xenon projector you are creating a hazard for yourself and others. Hid warm up prevents full light output in highbeams when the are clicked on and off. On top of that without proper direction of the light you end up using a bulb with a different focal point that creates glare for others, and usually too much foreground light for yourself that kills your ability to see things at a distance, that combined with dim(at ignition) high beams with poorly focused light turn HIDs from the great light source they are into a hazard

OK, this is an idea I am thinking of

Add a small bi xenon lens or projector to a clear headlight in the low beam and leave the hi beam xenon for off road turned by a switch

I think it is the perfect setup if we can fit it

Im going to be putting the new square lense mini d2s morimoto projectors in a set of smoked headlights (oem style) they will fit but the retrofit is going to be different than the mini h1 in the spyder headlights that has already been written. It will require a 6cm hole to be cut in the reflector and possibly rhe radiator support being notched. Id recommend not doing the hid highs as you may actually loose some visibilty with that much light. I wanted to do the same thing but a few hours trolling over at hid planet changed my mind

unknown at this time.
5k for lows is best. It is the purest white light pretty much. Hids in highs is not practical if you need to be able to flash your high beams.

Im planning on getting the ddm kit, mostly due to the lifetime warranty, and id thought about doing the 5k. One nice thing about the mini d2s is that it opens up the realm of stock bulbs and ballsts from any hid equipped jyard car

If you used the big xenon projector then your flashing fast without cutting power because the ballast well be ON all the time when you switch to Hi the only thing changes is the low beam reflector inside the the projector or lens so actually when you shift to high beam you are releasing the bright without any resurrections (just like the new CTS big xenon idea) so you well have the original Hi beam in used therefore you can use it as an offroad light!

Think of it single HID bulb + single 35w ballast can deliver Hi/Lo beam compo (by projector)
And
An extra hi beam bulb space for extra lighting power!

Bixenon projectors use a solenoid to move a cutoff shield to create low beams and moves them out of the way for highs, trying to flash hids is difficult due to their warm up time, do yourself a favor and just build a quad projector

True (before) it won't take time to worm up if it is already ON!

AND the latest generation of ballasts can deliver full brightness in less than 2 seconds!

I had DDM Tuning and got tired of having to make warranty exchanges. So I bought a kit from TRS and haven't looked back. I have the 5K pure white, I have them in some depo projectors and love them.
