Ok the craziness I went through to install the HIDs has long been over for about a year now thank goodness. Today I had a side marker light bulb go out. Im very picky about lights so I jumped right on it. An hour later I finally got it in but guess what else.........I broke the freaking headlight mounts trying to get to it so now I have no way of screwing the headlight down in one corner. After owning and working on many of the GM 02-06 body style trucks and SUVs I was always impressed with the ease of removing grills, headlights etc. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENNED on these new ones? I feel like I need a team from NASA in to do a simple bulb change. Makes me wonder if I had been at Jiffy Lube and they noticed it the pain and trouble and who knows what else that may have happenned from trying to change it. Truly a great looking car to include the chevy fronts but poor design mechanically I guess. I had to vent I almost lost my religion out there, so now I guess I have to buy a new pair of headlights!

I noticed the same shit. In my old 04 Denali, you pulled those two pins up. The whole light changing process in those was maybe a minute if you know what you're doing. Now, it takes probably 10 if you have all the right tools.

Man I have to agree with this! Its like GM has tried to make these newer models as hard to work on as possible in a garage by the owner, so they will have to pay the dealer to do it!!
I'm good with cars and I have significant difficulty, I even broke my passenger side hold down tab (you know the tab that hols the lights in even when the bolrs are removed) a year back and now that headlight shakes a bit over bumps, VERY annoying!!
Don't feel like dishing money out to fix it though!!

Oh yeah that's cracked off too and the thing that makes me so mad is all this because of a tiny $1 light bulb, ughhhhhhh. I miss the days of the two pins and bam your done.

I just replaced one of my side markers on my 2007 Yukon Denali. I couldn't believe how "involved" it was. Nothing like what I would've expected.
