2015 Tahoe doesn't have anything on the roof. There is just this plastic strip filling the channel where one would otherwise be mounted.

My question is, if i remove this plastic piece, will there be plugged holes under it to mount a roof rack? And how are these plastic strips mounted? will i break anything by prying them up?

looks like some one removed the rack entirely or it never had one, you can get the racks aftermarket but the mount would probably have to be sourced from a dealer or wrecking yard/dismantler
the plastic end caps come off and more bolts are under them and then they slide out of that groove or something to that affect I haven't looked under the caps

I understand that much, i watched this video that shows what is going on pretty well.
Removing Roof Rack

My question is whether a version with no roof rack, will already have the holes. So if i want a rack, do i just pull it up and pull the plugs out of the holes, or am I going to be trying to figure out where i need to drill holes.

And I'm wondering if anyone knows how these plastic strips are attached. Can i just pull them up and look, or will doing that ruin the adhesive or clips holding it down, so it will be a chore to put them back..
