I have them on my 03 and no problems as well. But my ballast say dot approved

I agree with Nathan. Your ballast may be dot approved but the light your reflective headlight housings are throwing all over the place is hazardous for oncoming drivers.

I did the same thing only I went with the 35w last year. I wish now I would've gone with the 55w!

And they are DOT approved in an OEM application. They are not DOT approved in your vehicle. Anyone could get a DOT sticker for anything, but that doesn't mean they are approved for your vehicle.

My retrofit was done using OEM parts from a Lexus RX350, however, it's still illegal in my application because it's not from the factory in my vehicle.

Like I said, any change from OEM is illegal, but less worrisome in a projector retrofit and not something glaring at oncoming traffic like just putting HIDs in your stock housing.

I ran a 35w 5000k setup in black housing reflectors (like-OEM) on my 03 for about 2 months. They were VERY bright, but I found that while there was a lot of your field of view illuminated, the light quality was scattered and not very useful. Depth perception seemed to be an issue with the scattered light.
Switched to Depo projectors and it is a world of difference. Very focused light and my eyes do not strain near as much. Not to mention I can actually look at the front of my truck with the lights on now and not need a welding helmet!

On your headlights you can go 55w and fogs 25/35w
And don't go any higher than 6000k!!!

Stock housings have fluted lens that scatter the beam. Any time I come across some one that has that setup I cite them!
