I am new, but have used the search already. I wanted to know if there is a headrest DVD system which has been accepted on the forum as beeing pretty good?

Basically I want to buy complete replacment headrests which I can drop into my 2000 Yukon with tan interior. I want them to fit well and color match. I don't want a unit which will not eject dvd's over time on a screen which will fail to work. Ideally each headrest will have it's own dvd player, and the abiity for the monitors to display the same movie or work independantly. I would also want the sound be done with an FM transmitter.

Is there a vendor or manufactuer which is prefered?

Is there a popular alternative? I am staying away form a roof monitor to avoid a blind spot and potential headliner sag issues etc.

Thanks in advance!

The older audiovoxs I have do all that (fm is for DVD1 only), plus independent IR headphones.

but you cant get them new anymore.

Keep an eye out for a used set though, its absolutely hands down the best system out there. It even has the headrest tilt feature like pre-2003 T/Y/S.

vizualogic ( rebadged audiovox?) are doing a similar thing, but I think they are down to one dvd, and you have to swap covers to match now.

That certainly is a helpful response. It's a shame they are NLA. Maybe I need to figure out a way to put a kit into my stock rests.

I would love to hear about any other BTDT projects with headrest DVDs.

I agree with everythign you said. Seems liek getting the latest, will require a custom install into my headrests, right?

Has anyone posted a thread on what they did when something like this was attempted? The Audiovox kit would have been nice, but a honest attempt at "plan B" isn't so bad I guess. Just was looking to lear from others.

All suggestions on brand/ configurations and such are welcome.
