heat in my 98 yukon

the heat in my truck blows out warm but not hot. new thermostat, new blower motor, heater core was replaced about five years ago. any ideas?

Check the vacuum controlled coolant valve. Make sure it is operating free and opening all the way.

personally i'd remove that. i did and i get wicked heat now.

That seems like a really good idea!

Might be one of those 'doh' moments as to why didn't I do this sooner!


Living five hours north of you it gets colder up here!!!!
We often joke that up here its so cold that we only have two months of bad skiing!

I don't think the air con can over power the heater core in the cooling mode.

Like in the defrost mode when the air cond is on and the heater core easily makes hot air. The air con, dries the air and then the heater core heats it up.

It's that valve that varies the flow of hot antifreeze to the heater core. :)
