picked up front and rear seats from a 4 door hoe

driver seat bolted in fine, pass seat bolt patten doesn't match in the front, old holes are about 3" or so in front of the new seat mount... plan on welding on some steel extenions to the new seat tracks. heads up to anyone wanting to swap power seats in place of a manual track.

now on to the heated part. Anyone have a listing of what the 5-6 wires are on the seat connector? factory wire harness only has 3 wires, and the heated part doesn't currently work.

Same on the Pass side. truck harness has 2 wires seat has a couple extras. currently no power or heat on pass. side.

do a write up as you go. It's getting cold here and heated leather sounds nice

its cold here and that leather was FREEZING this morning. hoping to not get called in to work tomorrow to get it all figured out.

seats aren't in amazing shape, but for the price they are worth getting redone this spring. i'll try to take some pictures as i get some more figured out.

plan on putting in a relay triggering off the ign. source, and splitting it between the seats, that is once i figure out what wire is what.

Hey, I FOUND this wiring diagram for a 99 escalade front heated seats.
http://rapidshare.com/files/432027156/front_heated_seats.pdf

It shows a 6-pin heating element connector and a 6-pin module under the seat. I don't think that you need the module, just the heating elements connectors.

So, I'd look for the two yellow wires, they are the seat cushion heating elements, and the purple and black wires are the seat back elements.

+1 on the writeup. I wouldn't mind heated seats as well.

it looks like the diagram is for whats in the seat, but it doesn't list if it is also a part of the power seat functions or not. it already has a always hot and ground for the power track/up/down functions.

the driver side has the same plug haging out of it as a normal power seat, with a couple extra wires. i'll have to go take a look and see what color the extras are.

doesn't look like the heat will be working today, sort of crappy and cold out (not what was forcasted...)

Alright, think i have the wiring figured out for the seats (thanks for the diagram!)

Driver Side:
Orange- 12V Constant
Orange- 12V Constant
Black- Ground
Brown- 12V Keyed Ignition

I had the factory power driver seat, so the truck harness and seat plug together, but the truck harness doesn't have the brown wire in it. easy fix with a relay triggered off a keyed ignition wire. It looks like one orange is for the power track and the other is for the lumbar support.

Passenger Side:
Orange- 12V Constant
Orange- 12V Constant
Black- Ground
Brown- 12V Keyed Ignition
Yellow- Pass Side Seatbelt Switch

I didn't have the passenger side power seat, so the only wires i have are an orange or black for the lumbar support. have to put in a more appropriate Gage power and ground for the heater and power function, and tap into the relay for the ignition trigger. Only Problem i haven't figured out is the yellow wire. my truck doesn't have a seat belt switch on the passenger side. I'm assuming its there to keep the heater from functioning without someone in the seat. it'll either need to be connected to the Keyed Ignition, or left unhooked.

Will this set up allow rear seat passengers to get in easily? I have the same set up as your old seats (power driver seat, manual passenger seat) and for rear passengers to get in they have to pull the lever on the passenger side seat back and seat comes up considerably to allow them to climb back there. This isn't possible on the driver side because the seat back doesn't recline forward like the passenger side does. So I'm wondering how you will do that with making the passenger seat powered. Do you get what I'm saying? Granted I don't cart around people in the back a ton but this comes to mind as I've thought about doing this as well.

Unless you don't carry rear passengers at all then you won't have this problem.

Unless this is why you are welding extensions on the track but then you would have to move the seat forward by the powered motor and not the lever right? Please elaborate :Handshake:

my back seat doesn't get used 90% of the time.

the new driver/pass seat doesn't have the "entry" lever on it. BUT they both flip foreward if you pull the seat back adjustment lever and you can move it forward with the power joystick. not the quickest, but you can still get in/out of the back seat if needed.

they actually seem to go a little farther forward than the old seats

i'll get some pictures when i get a chance to work on it (hopefully tomorrow) showing what the extensions are for.
