Phwtt! Big help the dealer was. If you have TEDs (thermal electric devices) I'm sure the parts guy doesn't care about you because it's over his pay grade to help you.
2008 Escalade seat heater terminal plug melted
Aftermarket cooled seats are set up to run the TED in both directions to heat and cool. I can't get a definitive answer on how GM seats are heated when they have the cooled seat option. The C7 Vette uses a standard heated element with cut outs for the cooled TED air.
It took a little digging. The Escalade uses the TED for cooling only.
The NNBS (07-14) uses conventional heated seat mats NOT the TED.
The Escalade would have seat heating elements similar to the one above for the C7. Check out the thread below on diagnosing an 09 Escalade heated / cooled seat.
