The bottom seat cushion on the passenger front seat has stopped warming when the heated feature is turned on. However, the backrest warms up fine and driver's seat works fine on both seat bottom and backrest. Is this an issue with the heating element in the seat bottom? Thanks.

I hope someone can come up with a definite answer for you. I have the exact same problem with my truck only it's the drivers side bottom. I've seen people say that they burn out over time and i have seen pictures to prove it. But some say even that doesn't fix the problem. My leather is in rough shape on my drivers side so i'm going to order a new seat cover and replace the heating pad while i'm at it as well. I'll let you know if this fixes my problem and hopefully help you decide what to do.

Same issue on my 01 Yukon, Pulled the drivers seat bottom leather and the wires were all pulled out of the heating pad and it was kind of wrinkled up too, Ordered a new Dorman aftermarket heating pad from partsgeek.com,
($92)with free shipping and ordered new leather and seat foam from theseatshop.com ($350 for both) and the most amazing customer service. Hope this helps.

I have a 2010 Z71 and I have the same problem. I just had mine in the dealership and they told me the heating element shorted out in both front seats on the bottom cushion. After they installed new parts its still not heating in the bottom. I called back and they said wait until the weather is below 30 then they should work. If not they said bring it back. Looks like this is a problem with all GM vehicles is this breed.

Seriously?? They think the seat heaters know what the outside temp is? I call BS. They should heat up no matter what the outside temp is,

I am in the process of changing the drivers side bottom heating element. I inspected it the other day and it had multiple scorched areas. Found one ebay for $56. I also think my seat back element may be bad but that one didn't look near as easy to inspect/replace . Has anyone here replaced the the seat back element and can advise what's involved in getting to that one?

I have the exact same problem with the exact same seat. (Passenger bottom.)
Everyone is sure it is the heating pad that is weared out?
No one experienced fuses, bad connections or similar?

The research I have done suggests that the most common problem is the heating element. When I inspected the one for my seat bottom it had multiple burn spots and obviously needed replacement. I am still waiting on my new one to see if this is the only problem with it.
