The passenger heated seat works fine by itself. Turns on and stays on.

Drivers side though turns off after a few seconds and if the passenger side was on, it turns off as well. The drivers seat is pretty badly ripped so I'm guessing something is just worn out. All the power controls on the seat still work although the forward/backward control seems to be backwards (slide forward to go back, backward to go forward), passenger side works normally.

Foot pedal adjustment doesn't work if that makes any difference.

Anything I should check before I look for a whole replacement seat?

I noticed mine does the same thing as you described but once I turn it back on it will stay on. curious to see if you find a solution.

bet it's a burn wire in the seat. Most people have to switch out the heating element in the seat. You can do it yourself for less than $100. There's videos on YouTube on how to do it.
