My friend's mom has a 2007 Escalade and the driver's heated seat is not working - not sure about the cooled though. We are taking both of our Escalades to my dad's shop to detail them and she wants to remove the seats to help clean the carpeting, so we might be able to do something with the seat real quick to fix it while it's out.

So, anyone have an idea of what it could be? We would like to attempt to fix it today if possible.

i did not get my service manuals yet so quick look could be a problem - DO THE SIMPLEST TROUBLESHOOTING FIRST - FIND THE FUSE AND CHECK IT, if you have the seat out you need a multimeter to trace around. The seat should have a occupancy switch (typically a microswitch that is set for a certain pressure weight to recognize presence in seat) if not active the seat heating will not come on. if you can find the seat wiring on the net then you are all set - sometimes if you walk into the dealer they might copy the wiring portion for you. if you shall locate this wire or pair it will either short across when you sit in the seat or send a 12v signal back to the comp. at the same time you can ohm the elements in your seat. They should show fairly low in resistance, if hi or infinite then they are toast (forgive the pun). If not then find the relay that drives them - you should feel or hear it activate if selected. Hope this helps you out a bit - good luck.
