does anyone know what could be possibly making my heater take 20 minutes to even get Luke warm, in 40 degree weather even. Its driving me insane, it use to get hot fast now it takes forever if at all to even get warm, and doesn't even get hot anymore. Any help is greatly appreciated.

unknown at this time.
Assuming the engine runs hot like it should it could be either getting clogged up slowing the water flow or the heater valve is malfunctioning.

15 minutes of running motor and heater full blast prior to posting this, drove it about 12 miles to town and back, a few of those highway, and this is the most the truck heated up by the time I got home. Heat was barely warm. I just had the radiator and heater core flushed in October...I think. Pretty recently at least.

I had heater problems before I had the flush also.

Yeah and I've only owned it 4 years. That's why I had it flushed and got a new radiator a couple years ago too.

I'd have to look in the truck tovl see which coolant I use. Always keep a jug of it with water handy just in case. But the water I use comes straight from my parents well. Its good clean water

The radiator was caked with dirt and crap when I bought it. I replaced the radiator, water pump, and thermostat at the same time. Flushed it all, then had it flushed again after two years in October. The first flush wasn't done correctly so there was some gunk left in the heater core that didn't get flushed the first time but it was clean flowing when it was done this last time cause I watched the guy do it this time. May just need another thermo. Like I said my truck eats them like freaking candy so i can try it. They aren't expensive and its easy to replace. Also need to get a new cap. Noticed this morning its leaking a tad bit.
