Hi,

I got a set of Hella 500 driving lights. In the instructions provided, it said that I need to connect the green wire that came from the kit and connects to switch, to connect it to the truck's high beams.

I pulled forward the driver side light and saw three wires coming from the high beam light: green/white and I think two blacks.

Is this green/white wire coming from the truck's high beam the one I connect to for the Hella switch?

I personally would just run them off the battery on a relay. Then activate via switch, so you can run them by themselves even if your headlights are off, but thats just me.

Thanks, but I probably will not want to wire them up that way.

Anyway, I need some guidance if this dk-grn/wh wire coming from truck's high beam light is the one I should or can connect to for this green wire that came from the Hella kit, has an in-line fuse, and goes to the Hella switch.

Your wanting these to come on with the high beams? I'm guessing from your post thats what you want but its hard to say.

If you dont have a voltmeter or test light to figure out which wire is the switched positive feeding the headlights I would hook up the ground to the hella light and remove the factory high beam bulb. then just strip the positive wire from the hella lights and stick it in where the bulb plugs in. With the high beams on see which of the 3 terminals powers the Hella light. The wire the connects to that terminal is the wire you want.

Are you wiring these with a relay? I'm guessing you are if your following the directions from hella. If not i don't think I would feed both lights off the same high beam, thats 3 large lights from one small factory wire.

I never hooked up off road lights to high beams to trigger the relay. I always ran them through the Fog lights
