Long story short; needed something able to fit a baby stroller, groceries and whatnot whilst able to tow a car on a trailer. Bid on various auctions and somehow ended up an owner of a 2011 Tahoe although I bid mostly on pick-up trucks and vans.
Long story long; First impression is it worked out for the better, absolutely in love with this beast of a car, I used to drive a little Hyundai. Hell, biggest engine I've ever had was a 1.8 litre turbo and that was an 80's Nissan. Whenever I go uphill it feels like it might as well just dig through it.
It's got its issues for sure, and I hope I found the right forum to discuss them.
Minor wandering steering, rear air suspension is all up in the air making it feel like commandeering a boat at times (why is there absolutely no mention of suspension in the manual btw?). Service park assist blocking out my nav/media unit and whatnot. But for a vehicle with 260k miles on it i'm baffled by how quiet a massive V8 engine can be. Turn off the AC and idling sound is literally halved until it's a quiet little trickle of ticks like a well tuned clock.
Perhaps due to its speed limiter (local regulation) topping out at 56mph but for small roads it's more than enough anyways so whatever.
LTZ trim too so it got cooling seats and whatnot. Cool but I mostly see it as more parts able to go bad. Right side mirror indicators are dead too now come to think of it (left side has a red arrow displayed when you blink left and some sort of blind sector alert so I'm most likely gonna look up how to fix the right one
Can't even begin to imagine how a Suburban would feel like, but I bet this Tahoe gives a proper first impression on what a real big car feels like.
On my to-do list is to fix that parking sensor issue, suspension, then go metalbrushing and in fact brush painting the underside cos it's gonna be a keeper and our hauler, it's decided.
