Hey guys,

I'm Dan. I'm gonna be getting a Tahoe or Yukon very soon. I currently have a 2009 Silverado, its lifted on 35's. Want to get something alittle more family friendly and can still tow my race car, which is a 1994 Chevy Caprice. I'm looking to get a 2015 or newer.

Is there anything I should look out for?
I know I want one with the max tow package.

Thanks in advance

more info on caprice. sounds interesting ;)

for your hoe/kon...
do as much city &highway driving as you can...at varying speeds (20-80ish mph) to check for booming / buffeting
check the front shocks for leaks & all suspension bushings
make sure you get ALL service records & have your mechanic check it out , if possible
make sure all TSBs have been handled, couple to look for A/C condenser & torque converter (shuttering issue)
check for leaks in head liner from the roof antennae

the extra power from a 6.2 will be noticeable compared to 5.3. although the 5.3 will still do good work

Hey Dan. Welcome. Make sure you check the Tahoe has a smooth idle at a stop light in drive. Apparently there is an issue where some do it and some don’t. Unfortunately my 2018 does it and it’s just annoying. Doesn’t throw any codes and dealer said it’s normal. Some have had engine motor mounts changed with varying results. Good luck on your search

The caprice is a former Texas state trooper car. I put a 6 speed manual in it. It has a 388 lt1 and a full cage. Its setup for the road course.

I'll give the truck a good once over at my shop (ase certified master technician). Doesnt the 6.2 need premium?

I live in south Jersey near cherry hill.
