My Tahoe froze here in Colo a few days ago, cranky-no start. Figured wtr in fuel lines was culprit, killed the battery while trying to start, wanted to start backfired 1 time. Charged the battery wasn’t enough to try multiple times got a jump, would almost catch n start but just short of starting, neighbor thought poss timing just from backfire ? What’s the chance ?

There's a crank position sensor, for sure. But you likely should put a code reader on it instead of throwing parts at it. Also, if you would like any, other suggestions, you might want to indicate what year, what trim level, and any modifications on your Tahoe. In any case, welcome to the forum, and good luck in getting this fixed!

Additional thought: You might have a cabling issue. My daughter's 2003 Sierra kept dying and we would get this no start condition. I wiggles her wires at/near the battery while she tried to start it, and she could get it started. We eventually replaced that harness.

You don't mean that it literally froze (as in low temps), do you? Just that it wouldn't start?

If you get it cranking good with a healthy battery, does the tach show any rpm? You may need to look at the rpms on a scanner.

When you turn the key do you hear the fuel pump run? While you're cranking it have someone reach underneath and pound the bottom of the fuel tank with a fist or rubber mallet to see if it needs a little persuasion to start pumping.

Otherwise, the normal checks apply: spark? fuel pressure and delivery? injectors getting turned on?

Lots of unknowns here, so please let us know what you're working on: year, make, model, engine, trim, etc. If this is a Flex Fuel vehicle there will probably be a fuel filter on the frame rail, but that remains to be determined.
