I found out it actually part of the valve cover.

INCORRECT



that is the serviceable PCV valve. Remove the original and replace it with a new $2 piece.

I always suggest folks acquire a workshop manual for DIY service & maintenence, repairs.

Paperbacks are good for quick reference but online tech-lit has much more info.
