try jumping the starter by bridging the large stud and the small one? if it turns the engine over the starter should be ok.

also have someone hold the key to crank, while you test for power at the small stud on the starter with the wire. thats the trigger wire, its what makes the starter crank. if theres no power to that, then you know theres a issue up the line somewhere.

if you are getting power, smash the body of the starter with a hammer a few times while someone holds the key to crank, if it all of a sudden cranks, you need a new starter.

Sounding pretty hard to diagnose over the internet....
Other things you may have already checked....
Ignition switch
neutral safety switch/shift linkage
security system/key code
cables and connections to starter

So what happens when you turn the key to start? (Just to start) cluster lights?, Dinger? Interior lights? Radio? Is all that working?

All works but the chimes
Wierd, so unless the chimes are turned off in the dic then there is still a bad connection somewhere, you might want to take a close look at the pins for the fuse box, if any of them look bent/discolored/etc then maybe put a small piece of sandpaper on the top of a small flathead screwdriver and scuff them, If any are bent then straighten them with a set of needle nose pliers, it's just an idea anyway.
