help ,did not locate EGR valve

hello every body,

I'm new user in here and i have 1998 yukon GT ,i looking for EGR valve to clean it but i didn't find it ,i found only plate on the block in the centre of engine near thermostat elbow ,it can be without EGR valve ?

And i noticed black smoke from exhaust at high RPM ,So i need answers if there is

Is there any kind of benefit of an EGR bypass kit? Performance? Fuel Economy, I don't think so?

i havent heard of any benefit but since the EGR recycles fumes, I'm guessing you could gain some power by blocking it off.

l feel power but i'm not sure it's because of EGR plate or not :$
i install Volant cold air intake system ,throttle body spacer ,Gibson headers and exhaust system ,and i tuned my car with Hypertech Max Energy.
