"Service Engine Soon" greeted me the other morning. 5.7L Vortec. Code was P1345. Can someone who knows their stuff shed some light on this? I understand it is a timing issue but how extensive a repair am I looking at here? Distributor gear? Distributor out of adjustment? Just a sensor? Crank shaft? Cam? (Aside from the standard TBS and CAI bolt on performance I already have, I was considering having some work done to the engine. Maybe upgraded cam? Would this be a good time to look into it?)

Most importantly, I'm in need of help with the code. It idles perfectly but sputters sporadically a bit through low RPMs when driving. Revs smooth in neutral, however. Definitely a noticeable loss of power when accelerating though. Feels terrible.

Any advice or knowledge would be appreciated.

(Also, engine has about 10k miles on it. Warrantied, but in Texas. 20 hours away.)

your dizzy needs to be zeroed out using a scanner that can read "CAM_RETARD". However if it has happened within 10k miles I would remove it and inspect it and the cam gear before proceeding. the code bassically mean you crank and camshaft sensor are not in sync within 0° +/-2°.
