My 07 YukonXL 1500 (5.3 / 4 speed) shifts a bit hard from 2 to 3 under light throttle. I notice it a parking lot or residential streets, or any time I'm not getting on it. It's not really bad, but I notice it doesn't seem right. She's got 188,000 on the clock now.

Anyone else been through this that can suggest fixes?

Good news is the rear end rebuild I did last fall has been perfect (TracLok and bearings). If I fix the transmission, and fix my ridiculous oil consumption, it'll be all set. LOL. What other major components can I have issues with!

On my 07 LTZ had same issues when i bought with 60k. Went dealer 5 times and they couldnt find out whats wrong. At 101k when GM powertrain and my extended warranty expired tranny went bad. It was like helicopter flying over your head. Turns out to be some idler gear in tranny and GM found out that i went 5 times to the local dealerships for this issue and never got fixed and GM give me brand new tranny with another 100k miles or 10 years warranty

Interesting, thanks. Did the idler gear fail because the transmission was shifting hard, or did the idler gear cause hard shifts? I would guess the gear failed as result of improper shifting.

They didnt wanna talk about it too much. Thats all they told me
I know car was on lease before i bought and trailer hitch was never used so Tahoe didnt see any towing. I dont know how hard previous owner drove it. I didnt tow anything any didnt drove it crazy. I think it was bad tranny from the beginning
