help, i was doing doughnuts in my tahoe and now the steering is stiff

yup. without question it is the power steering pump. under warranty? my buddy did this to his new 4X4 last year with 1,000 miles on it not knowing how bad it was on the power steering.

I doubt its under warranty, i bought the tahoe a year ago but im sure its an origianl part, ill have to look into it though

Pump is cheap you can scoop one from napa for $80 or so w/reservoir but make sure you buy the premium. May want to look at doing a hydroboost swap if you're mechanically inclined, the brakes will function much better and you can purchase the appropriate pump now.

I was just figuring out about that the hydro set up this morning, I think i might want to do it in the future as for right now my time window is very liited so I think it will be a ****** this time around. maybe a good summer project though

Yep, last time i do doughnuts in my tahoe. I ve done countless doughnuts in my jeep and never have had a problem.

In the heat of the moment, you just had the wheel locked out at some point. If you ever did it again, just remember to not have the wheel at full lock and there won't be a problem.

Don't sweat it man, it can happen anytime on these trucks. On a U-turn one time for me, straighted the wheel out after the turn and it felt like I was driving a school bus.
