HELP!!! Middle row stuck down

So I was cleaning out our 07 yukon today and folded the middle seats up to clean under them. I folded the passenger side (40 side) down and when I went to fold down the drivers side (60 side) it wont unfold. It seems like the middle seat belt is stuck in a retractable state. I tried folding it back up and slamming it down and still the same, the back wont go up.

Has anyone had this problem or know how to get it to stop retracting? I saw a video on a arcadia where they had to take the whole seat apart to get to it, but I am hoping I don't have to do that.

It did happen to me, the seat belt is stuck, the one built in the seat right ?

Try pushing the seat belt in more and see if its is a type of latch and release mechanism. I would say its the same way of releasing it when pulled out the out as to retracted all the way in. Worth a try instead of disassembling the whole seat. Good luck.

Yep the one built in. I took the side piece off and undid the bolt holding it. It retracted all the way in and won't pull out at all.
Only thing I can think is to disassemble the whole seat to take the seat belt out or to try to figure out how to fix it

In my case i kept yanking it fast and repeatedly and it opened

I ended up taking the seat apart and got it fixed. Had to take both sides off the belt to fix it

this happened to me on my captains chairs this weekend. i just kept messing with it and it finally went down. i don't recall if i messed with the seat belt though.
