Hi all, new to forum with question. Hoping the collective knowledge can give me some direction.

2004 Yukon XL 1500. My entire cluster has failed, along with DIC readout. Gauges are stuck in various positions and will not move. I have replaced fuses, disconnected battery, no change. This morning I removed the cluster and checked voltage to harness/plug. I have voltage at the plug, so I think the cluster itself has some sort of power or circuit board issue.

Should I disassemble the cluster to trace the power issue further? Does anyone have a wiring diagram or pinout of the cluster connection?

Or am I better off replacing the cluster? Looks like anywhere from $150 to $300. Will there be any programming involved?

I think GM is well aware of the cluster failure issue. They issued a service bulletin about this issue, but did not do a recall.

How many miles are on your truck? I think 04 was the last model year for the special policy which only goes up to 80k miles. If you're over that, you might be able to get it at least partially covered depending on your dealer.

I can recommend a shop to fix it that's really quick and inexpensive, or can offer you a used escalade platinum cluster if this feller doesn't buy it. :)

I'm at 140K, my dealer already said it won't be covered. I guess I'm looking for an inexpensive cluster...should be plug n play, right?
