Really need some help on this.

So I tried to install a newer radio in my 2002 suburban that I purchased a couple of weeks ago.

It already had an aftermarket pioneer in there, so I proceeded to take that out. The harness looked crazy so I ripped that out and wird up my new Metra harness and hooked it up. Radio powered on and no sound. tried a couple of things, no luck. Tried old radio with new harness, no luck. Noticed air stopped blowing and that I lost HVAC and cluster power. Replaced the under hood radio fuse and it came back, but still no sound. Now any time I connect either radio it blows the fuse even when replaces with a 30amp (originally a 15). So right now I have everything working again but no radio in my dash. PLEASE HELP

Double check your connections and make sure you don't have to power the factory amp.
I got cought on a dodge that way once.
The blue amp wire from the radio needed to be cone red to the after market harness.

That may fix the no sound issue, but I cant get passed it shorting everything out. Any ideas on what that could be?

I am thinking you may have put the wire in the wrong place in your harness. If you think you are 100% confident in your connections then pull you harnesses around your radio and see if that changes anything.
How did you make your connections? Tape or butt connector? Make sure there are no stray wires hanging out.

So I think I may have got it. Tapping the pink wire got me sound and I found somewhere else online that it could be the antenna touching the HVAC controls that shorts everything out. Hasn't shorted again since. Not currently hooked up to any radio since I had to buy a new mounting kit after dropping and breaking mine (I know I'm an idiot) but I'm thinking that it's all set to just be plugged in now. Will update when installed. Thanks for all the help!

I know this is an old post but I was wondering. What did you tap the pink wire to? I bought a new pioneer unit for my 2000 Tahoe with factory amp and sub but got no sound. I have heard everything from tapping it (pink wire) to the blue/white wire from the new harness to the power antennae wire on the new harness. I tried both and still no sound...
