Purchased a 1996 Tahoe on craigslist. Runs great! However, I went to put the factory radio back in and all I get is a little noise out of the back speakers. The idiot cut his factory harness to hook up an after market system. Is this a security thing causing the radio not to get any sound? I figure i will have to run wires from each individual speaker to bypass what ever is going on in there. What are you thinking?

Your alarm and rear speakers have nothing to do with each other. I have never heard of any stock radio shutting down speakers as an anti theft security. In Hondas and Acuras they need password to be unlocked so the radio functions period.

double check the wires, if he hacked them up order new harnesses off ebay for cheap. If that can't be done see if you can obtain a factory wiring diagram and go from there. If not trace the wires and see where the break is.

Once I turn the ignition the volume turns all the way up, then turns all the way down. I turn the ignition off and it resets. I assume that I have a wire mixed up in the harness. The confusing thing is there us a yellow 2volt constant wire and a yellow rear speaker wire.

unknown at this time.
the yellow voltage trigger will be on the C1 connector between a pink and orange wires. The speaker yellow will be on the C2 connector betweeen the dark blue and brown wires.
