I just bought a 2002 Yukon SLT with the 50/50 third row seats. After pulling them out to clean them I reinstalled them and noticed the passenger side seatbelt had a little slack. I pulled it and there was no resistance nor spring back. Has anyone encountered this and if so what did you do? I have dealt with this on other seat belts just not with self contained in seat seat belts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Enzo,
I'm dealing with the same issue you explained below. I don't know how it happened although I have my suspicions that my son pulled on it too hard but he has yet to own up to it. I was unable to get it to retract which made it uselsss & unsafe so I took it out & put in the driver side seat. I haven't found the time yet to try to maybe open up the area where the belt retracts into to see what happened.

Seatbelts fail unfortunately. I replaced a couple in my 2001 Suburban (but not the third row). I looked into fixing it but it is a sealed unit and I figured it was safer to buy a new seatbelt for less than $100 than risk the safety of my passenger. Contact the dealer and see if a new belt is available for the third row.
