I'm new here and have a question for the lifted people.. i have and 02 tahoe 4x4 and this is my set up...

ebay f keys, new z71 springs w/3" ebay spacers and 5100's alway around.. when i had the truck on the lift doing the rear lift i noticed that the rear center brake line is not long enough.. so for the time being took the bolt out bent the lines up to give me some play... i wanna do all (5) SS brake lines and fix the length problem.. lol..
question is.. what are my options?

Thanks!

is the length too short when the trucks just on the lift with the axle hanging?

i've got z71 springs and a 1.5" spacer with no issues - not sure if you're just noticing because all the travels been taken out and maybe it'll be fine when loaded.

Thanx for the reply !!
Thats what i was thinking also but with it down on the ground there is still like 1" of gap to bolt the T spliter to the center of the diff... Another concern/worry is when i go off road and the diff flexs that it will rip the line out and that would be a bad time!! I tried looking for SS lines for 3"lift but only found SS for Stock height and 6" lift and with the 6" SS might be to long for the front...

Just bend the upper frame bracket down and axle bracket up. Make sure it's not stretched when on a lift and it's good for off road. Get the stock length lines and call it done. I had the same setup with 2" spacers

so it will give enough clearance for the lines if it just bend the brackets? The lines are semi taught now with weight, and stretched pretty good when jacked up. I know I'm pushing the limit on everything cuz I dont wanna do a full lift kit and start hacking up the frame and front diff.

Yes jack the hoe of the ground and let axle go to max travel then bend both ends of the brake line brackets as stated. It will give enough slack for max travel on 2" spacer.

I'm running 2" lift springs plus a 2" spacer, and I've been able to bend the lower brake line bracket up enough to keep some slack in the lines at full extension. I didn't know about the upper bracket so will look at that if I need more (thanks Konvict). But agree this is something that should be checked when you start lifting. The axle is going to fully extend sooner or later, even on the road. I checked mine with the frame on jackstands and the rear axle hanging all the way down with the shocks connected and at full extension.

With keys in the front, you don't need to extend the brake lines. Keys don't change the max downward travel of the front suspension. So you are still within factory limits there.

Do you happen to know which Bilstein 5100s you have? IIRC, my 5100s have a 26.16 extended length. The shock length is the limiting factor for axle drop.
