I know its 2020 and everyone uses Carplay for nav, but we go hiking in mountains frequently where there is no cell reception so I regularly would use the built in nav.
There are a few threads on this already, everyone saying the sharkfin is the most common.
I followed this video
after buying this part from ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/84081915-B...lade-Silverado-Siera-Tahoe-Yukon/254155958502
No signal. Drove around for 10 minutes looping the neighborhood, no signal. Disconnected battery for 5 min and repeated process, still no signal
The connections under roof are secure/don't pull free without a screwdriver and pushing the tab down.
I cleaned off all the crud under the sharkfin and its like 99% black paint with only a few marks I couldn't get off. I'm not sure if those silver tabs on the bottom do anything https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/MnwAAOSwjFleREzI/s-l1600.jpg
I tightened the bolt down all the way.
Is there anything I can do at this point to know if the replacement antenna is junk or if I have to go further downstream?
