I bought the PAC GMRVD so I could hook up 2 headrest monitors for the 3rd row. Everything works, but there is swirls and faint lines in the video on the headrest monitors and the RSE flip down. If I unplug the video from the headrest monitors the RSE video becomes crystal clear. So, do I need a video amp? If so, what are your recommendations.

Thanks,

I'm tagging along because I am getting ready to do a headrest install and want to learn anything I can about this subject. Good luck.

Any power wires near your video feed? Could be interference from crossing lines...

No, there is only the video wire connected to the harness. Even if the headrest monitors power is disconnected I get swirls in the RSE monitor. If I remove the video wire, then the RSE clears right up. I just don't think the factory head unit has enough power to send video to more than one screen.

This might sound dumb but ive seen alot of crazy stuff, u r using video wire right? Some people use regular audio cables works a little bit can't carry it fast enough to make good quality, On top of that ya I think a video amp will make all the problems go away just take ur sources straight it first then branch off from there.

That is not a dumb question, but yes I am using a video cable. I have used differently shielded cables and it is the same problem. I guess I will be buying a video amp. I have never bought a video amp, is there anything that I should be looking for feature wise? I have found a couple of 1 to 4 video distribution amps, but I don't know what specs to look for.
