I have been looking for a truck for most of this year and I pretty much wanted a new truck to one with 10k miles or less. Being a usaa member and also military I'm eligle for either discount and the best I was able to possibly get a new Sierra Denali for was $43,000 but by the time I added some things I wanted I know I was gona be in the area of $45-46 k. That is too much for me to pay and lately I'm thinking more in the $35 k range and by time I add the fiberglass tonneau and side steps if it don't have it I would be at about $38 including labor. Now lately I have been seeing them online for about $38-41k with anywhere from 20-35k miles. Saw one today , 2010 or 11 with 18k miles and buyout of lease option is about $28k and to buy truck outright they want $39k.

I feel like for the truck I want, if they want $39k I will offer about $35k, no more than $36k. I just like something new with a full warranty thats why i wanted new. All of the trucks I have seen looks to be in great great shape but that's just my piece of mind to have a full warranty. If I got something with about 20-25k miles I know I would have 12k more miles till warranty ends plus the power train warranty. A guy I work with a few months ago bought a 2011 Ford F150 Lariat pearl white with about 150 miles. They wanted $46 or $47K for it but he got it for $37 and I think that's after he added the fiberglass tonneau and bug deflector and rain visors for windows. Is a GMC Sierra Denali worth that much more that they won't give $10k off in most cases? I'm just really trying to decide what I want to do. That's alot of money for a vehicle. I'm really thinking a max of about $38-39k with everything I want is really the way I want to go and just have to decicde if I want one with at least 20k miles on it.

The price they gave you is in the right ballpark. If you have a ('99+)trade in there's $1,000 trade-in allowance. Dunno if they factored that in or not. Also starting tomorrow costco members can get another $500 off.
If they sold it to you for $35k they'd be losing around $6,000 so I doubt they'd do that. There isn't as much profit in these things as people think. Last week one of our guys sold a denali with all the rebates we could find and the company made $300 (on a $60k vehicle). He's on commission so he gets about $100.
You could look into a SLT with the 6.2L, if that's the engine you want. You could probably get one of those down in the $36k range. Also you can buy the GMPP (factory warranty) usually for $1000-$2000 up to 100k miles if you want to extend it, so you can factor that in if you go used.
