help with my phone connectivity on my '03 suburban

I have had this 03 burb for 22 years and never used the phone speaker connection. The other day I said "hey siri call home" and my I phone connected to the 03 suburban for the call... The sound was only coming out of the small speaker up by my head, not the main speakers. However, this means that my phone can connect to the suburban somehow.. How do I make this connection and can I play music from my I phone on the main speakers?? all electronics on the 03 are original. PLEASE HELP!

The small "speaker" up by your head is likely not that; the device in the headliner is an HVAC temp sensor.

no this is a small round speaker. There is definitely sound coming out of it..
