Ok so after finding out my 2005 Yukon XL had no rear heat and was blowing out only cold air I researched the issue but am coming up with multiple part #'s.

My XL has the over head rear heat controls as well as the rear controls behind the center counsel along with the radio controls. When I removed the rear panel to access the actuators and module I noticed an actuator missing, just it's wire connector hanging there. When I call all my local GMC dealerships to try to find the part number of the actuator missing they try and tell me only the short base (Yukon and Tahoe) have 2 actuators and the long base suburban's and Yukon's only have one which I know is false because the actuator I have labeled as #1 in my first picture controls my floor and celling vents and when I manually turn the knob where the second actuator should be (labeled #3) it changes my air from hot to cold. Also, I have the old style control module (labeled #2) which is part number 21997590. All the posts and videos online call for the replacement part #15832319. The dealership on the other hand is trying to tell me the correct part # is 19260762 which is picture #2. I have NOTHING that even comes close to looking like that part in picture 1.

Can someone please help me make heads or tails of this mess???

Do the plugs from the front actuator and rear actuator match? If so maybe try moving the one from the front to the back and try to change temp, or at the very least, hook it up and try changing temps without bolting it into place, to see if it works. If the bolt holes line up maybe order the same actuator and install.

I had to replace the control module (the box with the two plugs coming out of it), but I had to troubleshoot my problem by swapping actuators out.

Yeah Big, I gotta replace mine too. I have the one with the old part number and once I put the rear panel back on I REALLY don't want to have to remove it again so I'm just gonna replace everything at the same time.

So I'm having similar problems with my rear heat... just blows cold air. If you haven't already found the solution here's what I have found:

These videos help identifying the part to change:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeWG5hTRW8s

And for the 2nd picture; that looks like the blower motor controller. Here's a blog that details how to change the one for the front:

http://www.sparkys-answers.com/2009/09/2004-chevrolet-silverado-blower-will.html

He also has a link for ordering that part. But from what it sounds like you aren't having problems with that... yet. You'll know you have a problem with that when your blower will not shut off... even when the truck is off and key removed. Spoiler alert: if it hasn't happened already, it's coming.

Anyway, you can find the part on Amazon. My part number does not match this, but from what I've been reading, the numbers don't have to match exactly. Still a little vague on that.

Hope this helps.

Dan
