I have a 2002 GMC Yukon SLT that is completely stock. The car alarm goes off almost every hour at night and sometimes when I go places. I went to a store onetime and when I came out there was a tow truck getting ready to tow it because of the alarm. Anyway basically the security light on the message center on the dash stays on and I dont think It used to do that, and when you open the door the dome lights dont always come on. This seems to happen more frequently in cold weather but I dont know if thats important. I need some sleep can you please help. I used to like this car and now I think I hate it. PLEASE HELP!!! THANKS

It might be the door latch/switch. Do you ever get a message that a door is open while driving?

I think if you use the key in the driver door to lock the vehicle after all doors have been shut instead of using the remote, it will not arm the factory security system. This might keep it from going off until you figure out the problem. However if there is a problem with the door sensor, it may not sense that all doors are closed... Hmm, hope this helps.

get to a mechanic and have your codes checked, or take it to an audio shop that does car alarm installs. they'll help you out.
