Hi guys, I am one of those guys that gets side-eyed when I drive my tahoe 2001 LT down the highways... Sadly this means that finding a local shop that won't cheat me is as hard as finding an (insert superhero here)
Please help me if you can, two weeks ago, the check engine light came on during driving, I took it to one of the shops that said it needed a firing sensor replacement. They did the whole shabang, removed the gasket head.. kept it out in the open (you know, to show that they're professionals) charged me a left arm and a right leg, bought the sensors (seemed to be originals but who knows these days) and put the engine back together again
Literally, one week after I took it back, check engine light came back on, and now there's a soft vibration in the engine that wasn't there before as soon as the engine warms up..
Sorry about the long post, but... can anyone help me please with any suggestions ?
Kind Regards,
John.

take it back to the shop and demand they fix whatever they broke. problem shouldn't be suddenly worse within a week of getting it back. they either need to fix the problem on thier dime or refund you the labor cost of the original job.

Thanks guys, sadly these "specialists" are the same type of "Certified chevrolet" with the name "america..." in their name but still think that the aveo is an SUV.
I'll try to talk to them again... Does anyone know where we can find one of those analysers that can show us the error codes ?
Thanks in advance for any help

The vibration is likely an engine misfire on one cylinder. Have it scanned and diagnosed. Could be related to something left loose from the repair, or something entirely new. No way to know without a diagnosis.

Any decent OBD2 scanner should work. They can be had for pretty cheap ($20 in the US) at any auto parts store.

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics, please.

I agree with the folks above, in that your first step should be to go back to your shop and have a conversation with them. They should also be able to tell you what the code is that is throwing the Check Engine warning light. Be there with them, so that they actually show you the code on their scanner.
