Welcome! My in-laws family is from/currently in Lucerne. Matter of fact, I will have dual citizenship in 3 years if I want it.

Oh great! Lucerne is a nice town! But unfortunately for me, I dont speak a word of German... (french on my side).

The marriage was in Switzerland or in the United States? (I'm not sure about the law here, and I wasnt sure my fiancee can become Swiss too if she wants in few years).

I misspoke. One side is from Sarnen and the other is Beromunster.

Our marriage was here and it only lasts a certain amount of generations. I believe after 6 years of marriage she will be able to apply. At that point her and I will have to complete something on a list. It includes taking a test on the country, have letters written from someone there or one of the other things they require.
