The only thing I miss about living there, besides the BBQ that I miss a lot, is the shop I ran before I moved out here. Best boss/owner I ever worked for.

What shop was that?

I like this area a lot. Very few other places I'd rather live

Besides Arthur Bryant's, where I ate at a lot, my next favorite is the Smokestack in Martin City on 71 south. The battered onion rings are the best I have ever had, if they haven't changed the recipe. It is hard to find a bad BBQ place on either side of the state line.

07Burb, worked for an independent shop called Dale's Automotive right off the freeway in Lenexa. The single most smartest tech I have ever been around and the best guy I know. I hated leaving there. If I could have folded his shop up and put him and it in my back pocket, I would still be working for him. The local Kansas and Mo. AAA used him as an arbitrator when a AAA customer had a complaint with another shop. Can't write for $hit but smart with vehicles.

Yeah Smokestack is a tasty place as well  I went there a lot as a kid because I grew up right off 150 hwy in LS and that was a straight shot west on 150 into Martin City. That part of town has REALLY grown in the last few years!! there are so many good places to choose from here :)

Yeah I know Dale's Automotive :waytogo:

I used to love driving to Martin city for BBQ in the spring and summer because if I had the a/c on I would turn it off and roll my window down about 1 mile out and wait for that BBQ smell to hit me. My mouth would start watering and I could not wait to get in there. They had, don't know if they still do, a huge assortment of bottled beer from around the world that they displayed around the restaurant on shelves. I think I tried about 50 of them.

If you ever have him work on something for you, tell Dale Ron says hi! Great guy! His rep is top notch. I worked for him as service manager for about 7 years.

Another KC'r checking in.

Phil...do you happen to still have the hood for your 2500? If it's just laying around I would be more than happy to take it off your hands for you.
