Ok, the problems continue...

Yes, I have the relay...

I wasn't sure what bulbs / ballasts I was using, but the brand is "GX" on the bulbs and "CanBus" ballasts... ??

First, I went with 6000k. They were a tad to blue for me. No issues aside from the passenger side not lighting up on the first press of the unlock button on the fob.

Switched bulbs only, to 5000k, the fog lights melted! (see pic below)

I'm so friggin frustrated with this crap, I just want them right.

Someone told me that you CANNOT use HID in the fog lights, but to use 5000k LED's? (Ive never heard this before, but I guess it makes sense if "melting" is normal???)

Suggestions?

Yeah HID melt your fogs. Ive heard that using 25w ballasts instead of 35w helps. but I cant find these 25w ballasts anywhere Im not even sure they make em. and using LEDs for fogs is pure cosmetic they have very little output.

Well, add on another victim to the headlight issue. Mine are DDM, I believe. Here is my situation:

Headlight:
- They do not work during approach/unlock button 75% of the time.
- They do not work when I turn the car on 50% of the time. I have to manually turn them off and then turn them back on and it works.
- Only time they both come on is in the morning...which is really weird because they come on 100% of the time in the mornings during approach/unlock as well as when I turn the car on.

Fog lights:
- Spencer HIDs sells the 25w bulbs. They are $150 for everything for 5000K but they tighter than my headlights...so worth it. No issues with these whatsoever. The install was a little confusing (I was a newbie) but Spencer explained the install via email and it was pretty easy from there.

I'd love any help on how to fix this problem. How do you disable the headlights upon approach? That just seems like a band-aid for my problem...the lights don't always come on. I don't know what a wiring harness is or how to connect it. Any thoughts on if DDM can use a wiring harness?

Any help is appreciated.

i

finally took the air box out, and the wire from the headlight bulb goes to a connector on the main wiring harneses, and I took that plug apart one night, about a dozen times, troubleshooting it.

it was worked 100% since I took that connector apart.

the approach lighting is worth it's weight in gold for safey, IMHO.

.

take the air box out, and follow the headlight wire back (about 5 inches) to that big connector, and un plug/re-plug it.

that WAS my problem, i have been 98% since that.

you might spray some carb cleaner in there if you want.

if you dont install a relay harness with your lights they will flicker and not always work!! i installed custom relay harnesses on each ballast. 12v power was directly from the battery. headlights, fog lights, and halos!! ive never again had a problem after properlly re installing them. all are oracle 6k's. wont use any other brand!!
