So I'm looking at some hid conversion kits and I don't really know what brand or where to buy them at. eBay has tons of different kits for around $30-75. Amazon is close in price as well. Any advise would be great. Thanks

So in order to do fogs, hi and lo I need a total of 3 kits? Also I can just use my stock headlight covers, right? I saw on another post on this forum that it was a good idea to get projector headlight lens. Thanks for all of the advise. I have just recently started working on my hoe and love it, but have lots to learn.

ok so after spending a little time looking at the website i have learned that i can kind of set up my own set up. :party33: so now that i have made it that far, if i want to do hi/lo do i choose the dual in and the dual out hid harness? and so as emann_01 said all i need is the 35 watt, because the 55 watt will melt the housing, right? also what kind of bulb is need for a 2007 tahoe. h11? will i need the error eliminator? sorry for the dumb questions. I am very excited to do this to my hoe and look forward to getting to know some of you guys as well.

First, there is no reason to put HIDs in highs. Also, no reason get projector headlights, actually light output would be less. You need the regular H11 kit, not the hi/low kit in the stock headlight housing. You can do 35 or 55 watt in low beams but many people have had problems with 55 watt kits melting fog light housing I believe. Although, a few have had the 35 watt kits melt their fog lights but not many. You do not need any extra harnesses or error eliminator. IMO do 35 watt in both low and fogs, looks the best because they will match in color and you wont have to worry about anything melting. Hope this helps!

To do all three of those yes you would need three 'kit's. Stock headlight is good to go, all you need is the kit. Do you want projectors? B/C that would be the only reason to get after-market projector headlights. It is definitely not mandatory. Hi/Lo dual in dual out HID harness i'm pretty sure is for Bi-Xenon/Yukon owners that have one bulb that controls both the high beam and low beam. Tahoe uses two separate bulbs and would require two separate kits... I did both the high beam and low beam so I needed 4 bulbs and 4 ballasts for that.

Some people choose to get 55W for more/brighter light output, but IMO it is totally overkill and 35W is def bright enough. Like I said in the initial response to the OP, it is the H11 bulb and no you do not need the error eliminator.

A 'few people' with melted housings = people who decided to actually post this issue. Who knows how many people have actually melted their housing but my guess is more then a few... actually let me rephrase... enough for me to never do this mod b/c with my luck I would be one of those 'few people' with a melted housing.
