What are you guys running for Performance Tires on your Tahoe/Yukon?

I have an 09 LTZ with the L9H that has been tuned and will get some more performance mods in the future.

I am looking at my choices of tires with a higher speed rating than stock. So far, the Michelin Premier LTX with a "H" rating (130 mph) is my only choice for High Performance. The stock rating on the Goodyear LS2 is 112mph (S)

I do not skimp on buying tires, so Anyone have a better solution?

Thanks,

Supergas

Well, I guess I answered my own question..

Goodyear Eagle Sport V-Speed Rated and they are very highly rated on all reports I read. Stock size, 275-55R20.

I could probably find a more pure performance tire, but I think this one will fill the bill for the speed rating I want, traction both wet & dry and a 50,000 mile warranty..

I don't care for Nittos as they are basically Toyo tires and I do not care for this brand.

Thanks,

SG

Good choice...what is the best price you found ?

I have modified my Yukon where it will FAR over run the standard speed rating and like you I don't scrimp on tires. I've favored the Michelin's and Bridgestones for years but if Goodyear has the tire in our OEM size I don't have a problem with them...my Dad worked for Goodyear for 20 years...high quality company.

The best price I have seen so far is Tire Rack, but then you have to have them installed.. I have a very good relationship with both Discount Tire and the Chevrolet Dealer here in my local town so I am going to use the TR price to see what they want to do for me.
I will keep the stock tires as I can use them on the 2014 Tahoe which is used for business and sees a lot more miles..

The TR price was $146.20 for a set of 4 @ $584.80 + shipping $147.64 for a total of $732.44 Less a $40.00 Mail In Rebate which resulted in a Grand Total of $ 692.44 Including Road Hazard Warranty, with no taxes.

I am going to check with the Chevy, Discount Tire & GY dealer here in town Monday to see what they come up with. I think the Mail in Rebate is from GY so should apply to all dealers.

This tire, Goodyear Eagle Sport V-Speed Rated, replaced the Goodyear Eagle..

Ive never had any luck with goodyear tires. I had a set of goodyear eagles on my camaro they gripped well enough but nothing impressive and they never came close to thier mileage rating. Same deal with the wranglers and thier aggressive at style tires. No complaints tho about grip or overall issues with the tires except the wranglers in the rain omg i might as well had slicks. Ive since switched over to running mastercraft tires on everything i own.

I currently have Goodyears on both of my Tahoes but I run Cooper AT tires on my 4WD 2007 Sierra and 06 Jeep Unlimited. I would use Cooper, but they do not make a V Rated tire for my 09 6.2 Tahoe..

I agree about the GY AT tires, wear very fast, but good grip before they start cupping on a 4WD...

Thanks for that. Bridgestone used to make a V Rated HT Alenza in 285/45 x 22 that I ran on my Escalade (140 MPH Certified Former FBI Vehicle). That I would get about 85K miles out of a set if I rotated them every 5K. I don't see them available in a 20"...they were great tires.
