I am trying to get a thread together of the highest highway miles per gallon everyone is getting with their Tahoes.. Specifically 09 and newer with the 6 speeds..

Thought you might post vehicle.. Year.. Miles on it.. 4 or 2wd and any mods made to the vehicle..

---------- Post added at 09:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:48 PM ----------

I will start it off...

Ours is an 09.. 4wd with 117K miles..

Only mods are roof rack removal and full de-badge and de-moulding.. and 40psi in the tires.

So far with stock tune and all highway driving at 70mph indicated on the speedometer (72 on the GPS) We got 19.6mpg..

Best 2 fill ups in the 09 suburban are 19.3 and 19.1. Completely stock and running 30-32 psi in the tires. Roughly 49k miles on the clock.

Right, let's just cut to the chase and skip a few pages ahead and go where this is inevitably heading so as to save everyone a little time ...

I get 200 miles to the gallon driving half the speed of light in the city.

My boss has a 2010 Denali XL with 145,000 on it. He drives the piss out of it and averages 14 MPG.

Well, I do not have an 09 or newer with the 6 speed tranny, but I thought I would chime in on what I get.

2007 Yukon XL completely stock and it looks like I am getting 16.1 mpg.
I have tested this on the last 3 tanks of gas. I reset the avg mpg on the dash every fill and check it with a calculator at the pump.

Now, to get this type of mileage you have to drive uber conservative and drive on really long, flat, straight roads. Only benefit of living in "BFE".

Getting good mileage has turned into a game with me. I have figured out where my vehicle will switch into 4 cylinder mode when full of passengers and when it is empty, and at what speeds.

I want to do mods to it, but am afraid to watch the 16.1 go away.....so stock it is for now. Maybe when my financial situation does not suck so bad and I dont care bout the mileage.......bahahahah that will NEVER happen!

My 19.6 was at 70mph on the same route we always take.. with the cruise set.. in moderate/light traffic.. Reset the meter at the last town on the two lane highway before we hit the insterstate..

I am planning to pick up HPTuners around tax time and start tuning.. I plan to try to push the barrier on the regular gas cal.. and max out the DOD on the truck.. Hoping for 25 on the same route again.. at 70 mph with the cruise set..

As for driving style.. I always run with the cruise on.. I feel that it is the best for repeatability..

No silly drafting or anything.. Just set it at 70 and go..

i do a ton of highway driving(out of state, random road conditions) , best i have been able to get "average" is 19.3 typically withthe cruise set @75 typically in the 17.5 -18 range

city driving, do good to get 13.... not a heavy footed driver
