Omar,
This find was definitely a fluke. I haven't been to the yard for a couple of years since I was looking for parts for my 79 Silverado. I'm in York, Pa. I sold my take off seats and door panels in less than 24 hrs. Apparently these parts are hard to find so I really got lucky. That Z71 is not much more than a shell now.
As far as the buttons, I'll always have non-functioning buttons anyway since I don't have the movable pedals. If you don't want to wait for a harness, you can do what I basically did and make your own sub-harness. It's 3 wires from the kick-panel connector to the drivers seat, 5 wires between the seats and the data-link wire.
Is there any residual issues with swapping to a BCM that has a different VIN than the original or can the VIN be changed to match?
Thanks for your help on this. I'd still be scratching my head and wondering what was wrong, without your input and knowledge.
