i was wondering if subs can go bad just layin inside your home for about ah year or two? this dang sub is stiff as ah brick... :( hope it still will work..
any1 ever heard of this? i mean i can press it down but it acks like it doesnt want to move... grrRRrr

It should still work but I would make sure to break it in (play it just at low volumes for a while and see if it loosens up) before you try to play it super loud.

i had this similiar problem years ago with two original JL Audio 12w6s. Tried the break in method bu didnt work, spiders had dry rotted.

well that sucks i sure hope that isnt the case for me :( i mean it was in my house the whole time.. climate control what more could i have done? maybe these things are like car batterys need to crank them up ever so often? grrrr im gonna be hella mad if this mojo doesnt work... i hope to try an put the box in this weekend. i bought some RCA module thingy from bestbuy to hook up to the factory radio so will see.

If the surrounds are rubber maybe try some kind of revitalizing compound? Cant think of the name of it right now

bad news for me... i installed the sub over the weekend and turns out im gonna have to send the sub back to memphis to get repaired.. the voice coil went kaboom... i think something had it suck inside where the coil is wrappped around thats why it was soo freakn hard to push in an out.. so will see what kinda cost im looking at to get it fix..

on the plus side i was able to take the 40lbs magenet off lol so that should help on the shipping.
