Hey all.. just joined the forum.. I have a 2008 Yukon SLT, and I was wondering what kind of MPG others are getting? The rating is 14/19, but I am averaging 13.6 after 15,000 miles. Tire pressure is 36, air filter clean.. 70% highway miles... easy on the accelerator...87 grade fuel.
So I am wondering if there is something wrong with it.. I am not expecting 20 MPG, but it seems like it should at least be in the 14/19 range they advertise..
Thanks for your input!!

Are you going by the built in computer or are you calculating your own ratings? I find the built in to be off.

the built in display reading is 13.6 MPG average. I haven't ever reset it and have 15,000 on the car. Not sure how many miles it uses to figure it, but it has always been between 13.4 and 13.6. I did figure it over one tank of gas once and it was about 14.. so I figured it was accurate...

It isn't completely accurate. How fast are you going on the highway? When the EPA makes the mileage ratings, they accelerate at 3.3mph/s which I find nearly impossible to do with all the power under my right foot. I'm getting I think 12.7 with my Denali which has the bigger engine and the 6 speed.

I am assuming you have the 5.3L engine and 4-speed auto. Do you have 4 wheel drive and are you stock?

I have an 07 Z71, 4x4, 4.10 final drive. Stock I was getting ~16 mpg city and ~19 mpg highway (around 70 mph on flat road), based on hand calculations not DIC. Now leveled with mud tires I get ~14 mpg city and 16 mpg highway.

According to my DIC this is exactly what I am getting as well in my Burb...

I think you're getting about average to be honest with you. You're getting about what I'd expect.
